Is the rear ends in a ss truck the same as in like a silverado 1500

No, an SS if i remember correctly is a 14bolt 9.5" 6 lug where as a 1500 is a 10bolt 8.6" 6 lug

i thought the awd ss's had 8.6 in the rear and the 2wd ss's had the 9.5?

The SS series, both AWD and 2WD have upgraded Transmissions and Diffrentials to stand up to the added stress.

the awd SS's have the 10 bolt and the 2wd have the 9.5 14 bolt.
