Rear-End Concerns!!
#1
Okay well a couple of weeks ago my rear end had started sqeaking whenever I hit a bump or hit the gas and the suspension moves....I didn't think much of it cause it would sqeak a little and then go away, but now it has gotten worse and I got under the truck and had a friend move it back and forth, and I saw that my axle it rotating up and down(maybe a 1/2 inch)....Then I check my U-joints anfd the one joint coming from the rear diff. is rusted on the outside and it just doesn't look good at all, also had a friend jump in the bed and found out the bushings on the leaf springs are sqeaking too. My question is can I just re-pack the u-joints with grease or should I have the one coming from the rear diff. replaced?? I am also going to be selling this truck in a couple months so budget friendly would be appreciated. Thanks.

mine used to do that, but now its worse...its like the rear end isn't flexing...whenever I go around a turn one tire looses traction with almost no throttle...now it is being very weird it feels like its not catching and hops sometimes, what I want to know is what do yall think is happening and am I in for some big trouble?? Just a statement that I am not driving this thing anywhere more than 1/4 mile for now until I know what's happening. Thanks again.

i was having some wierd issues with mine before i had it rebuilt. the wheels would take turns spinning. and it would ping real loud when going into gear and the u joints were tight. they put in the richmonds and an eaton. along with brute force u joints.
