Default Real Quick Oil Question

I use Roayal Purple synthetic oil in my silverado since new. My question is Do I still have to change it every 3 months. I've been putting about 500 miles a month on the truck. The life meter said I have 66 percent left and I had the oil in there 4 months. Kinda worries me leaving it in there that long will it be ok to change it every 6 months or just do it every 4.

In case you need to know its a 2004 silverado z71. 5.3L

Miles are local driving 4 miles to work and 4 miles back.

You can wait until you get 3,000 miles on the oil. Expecially if you take it fairly easy on your truck. If you dog it non-stop, i would probably change it a little more frequent.

no need to change the oil at this time. At your mileage rate you will only need to change the oil once a year with a filter change at 6 months. At the filter change you will need to top off with about 3/4 of a quart of fresh oil.

Cool

or change it when the DIC says to but once a year is good with Royal Purple in it and only about 6000 miles.

Lot of people say you can put 6,000+ miles on your synthetic oil. I always change mine at 3,000. I run mobil 1 synthetic 10w30 and i use the mobil 1 filter too.

There are many different beliefs but i have had alot of mechanics suggest that it is still optimum to change the oil at 3,000 miles.

Royal Purple is not all its cracked up to be. It gunks up in the motor. I have seen it happen to many people. It is extremely over rated!

I would really like to see one case with hard evdance of this.

That's pictures with oil analysis to back up this statement.

Not that you read on the net someplace that someones sister dated some guy that had a friend that once new someone that thought they new someone else that had a problem with RP.

If your going to make a statement like that you are going to need hard evdance.
