Yes but it will take race gas at a certain point.

what would need to be done to the 317s to raise the CR just a simple mill?

What would it take for the 4.8 heads to work? and why would you choose these over the 317s?

What do you think a safe CR would be if i plan on spraying at least 150?

And no meth or race gas.

well I think i came to a decision.

Im going to just use the 317s as is. My reason being is becuase i am on a budget to use the 862s would bump my CR to a point where i wouldnt feel comfortable using spray and the cost of porting them is just that another cost. if i milled dwne the 317s sure i could raise the CR a little and spray it but im not sure how much of the gas i want to use and even though milling would be not much $$ it still would be more.

So with the stock 317s i could spray and still be realativly safe.

Also i figured im going from a cammed 4.8 to a cammed,sprayed,6.0 and my goal of 12s should be attainable and plus with stock 317s i can just spray more if i wanted.

Hey Josh,

Good choice staying with the 317s, your truck should move very well with the LQ9.

Take care!

Whats up Goerge,

To be honest i was happy with the 4.8 but the crank bearing decided to start squeeling like a pig. We didnt even get a chance to spray it. (not sure if you seen the N2O setup).

So since the 4.8 doesnt want to play anymore I found me an LQ9 when all is said and done i should have a good moving truck (shooting for 12s) with the 212/218 cam and all the other boltons it should make some nice numbers.

I'm really interested to see how the 212/218 does in the LQ9. I was considering that cam myself.

The truck will be finished next week sometime. I will have some graphs to post up most likely next weekend.

Ive heard both sides saying its too small of a cam and others saying its going to make some good #s. I was willing to crak open my wallet for a new cam but i was kinda curious(sp) to see for myself.

I too am curious. Did you have the heads milled at all? I have an LQ4 and would like the idea of seeing what a set of milled LQ4s are good for.
