Most guy's have been using the convertor out of a 1986 Corvette but it has been discontinuded(spelling ?) so I am being told.I know a couple of guy's using convertor's out of a 1995 4.3L S-10 part #24202310.
www.gmpartsdirect.com has it for $174.42 plus a $35.00 core charge.
Just for comparision a good freind of mine has a 96' EC Stepside 5.7L with a Pro-Charger putting down 35x at the rear wheels and his flashes 3200 rpm's.Not sure what kind of power your making or if your in a EC or RC but I hope this helps.

thanks for the information, i was talking to a buddy of mine and he also mentioned the 95 s10 converter but he didn't know if it was the cpi or tbi converter. im not putting down to much power right now and my freind said he thought i would probably flash at 2500. The price of the s10 converter compared to the yank is such a big difference, it looks like i will probable end up getting the s10 converter.
thanks for the input
