only with a handheld programmer or a computer-based tuning software or sending pcm to have someone do it

The higher you rev is always gonna stress engine internals more...it comes down to how high you wanna rev it, if you plan to upgrade engine components (valve springs, pushrods, connecting rod bolts), how often you plan on revving it, etc.

ok i think that answered my question because the truck that im buying has a redline/limiter of 4000 or 4500 and i wanted it to be higher, and ive seen a stingray corvette's tach that goes orange from 5500-7500 rpm and reds from 7500-10000. its a twin whipple supercharged 512, so i guess all the internal mods that raise the redline?

Ya dude. I dont know if you wanna raise that rev limiter past 5300 on that stock 350. im not sure if it is a roller cam or not but i think it is. My old vortec 305 reved it out to about 5300.

Do you mean the rev limiter, or the actuall red line? THe rev limiter is set in the PCM, the actuall redline would be determined by internal engine componets. Such as valves, rocker arms, springs keepers, retainers, pushrods rod bolts etc.

also, if you`re talking about raising the shift points(it is an auto right?)... i dont know about the automatics of the time , but on my 91 grand marquis(i know its a ford.. and a car..but) i just adjusted the TV cable at the throttle body and raise the shift points like that. there might be something similar on your truck. unless its electronically controlled... i forgot what year you said it was.
