Who has hooked up a real time air temp gauge to this and how?

if you haven't, what would be the proper procedure for figuring this out? would I have to find out what kind of voltage signal the sensor makes and find the appropriate gauge? or is it harder than that?

 

The PCM uses this ... if you hook up another gauge to it, the PCM will get an invalid reading.

 

So the only way to monitor is via HP Tuner or some other monitoring software?

 

Pretty much .. unless you put in another one.

 

Actually you could connect another gauge, but you would have to be careful not to load the sensor or introduce any extraneous noise. If you're good at designing electronics it can be fairly easy. If not, well... I'd take Flyer's advice and add another sensor.
