All my research told me that if you want to keep low-end torque and also keep the stock TC, then you aren't going to want to go too high on the intake duration. Agreed upon by most guys I talked with was 206-208 intake for a 5.3L, and 210-212 intake for a 6.0L. Maybe you could get away with 214, 216, more....but then it becomes more of a gamble and you could lose torque down low. Plus what's driveable to someone else might not be driveable to you.

Too bad there's not someone in San Diego or Orange County with a 212/218 that you could go for a drive in. Don't any of the SoCal SS guys have that cam? They must. That would be the thing to do....they're having a GTG soon....maybe you could crash it....if one of the guys has that cam, that would be the perfect opportunity to see how it behaves behind a 6.0L.

I'm definetly not worried about low end Torque, HOWEVER, I wouldn't want to lose any either. 212/218 sounds probably ok, like you said, I need to confirm this with more supporting veiws OR a dang live ride

That blower is going to make up a lot of room where a bigger converter would be needed. I really think that 212/218 is gonna leave you wanting more.

Sent Cam Motion a new request based on:
The Cam needs to be daily driveable and compatable with a 2500ish(stock) stall converter and should have a good chance at passing CA smog.
I honestly don't think I need anymore off idle HP/TQ as I have a TON now, but don't want to lose any either, I'd like to keep max rpm around 6000 - 6250

here is the recommendation:
Grind # X2081-2152-15+4
Dur @ .050 214 intake and 222 exhaust
Lift is 545 intake 550 exhaust
Lobe seperation 115
Intake centerline 111

what'dya think?

Sounds like an excellent recommendation based upon all the input you've been getting here (i.e. Flyer's "212/218's gonna leave you wanting more..."), plus taking into account your smog requirements. Personally, after hearing what your TC stalls at, I was beginning to think you could go a little bit bigger than 212 intake....it looks like Cam Motion thinks so as well.

And, after reading through the numerous F-Body threads on smoggable California cams, seems like 224/224 is the agreed-upon max/limit as far as cams that will pass smog, with tuning. With a cam approaching that size, you will probably not pass without tuning, but you will likely want to get a tune anyway. Sounds like a good, solid recommendation.

So with eFile your return could come in by mid-January....still want to wait 'till the end of Feb?

Hey Naked, when you get a chance look up the specs on a X2081-2152 and tell me what you come up with?
