quietest/cheapest muffler w/ 3" in/out, can I use a diesel muffler on a gasoline?
I just ordered KBracings turbo kit and I am starting to look for a muffler to go behind the 3" down pipe. I'm looking to get a real cheap muffler that is very quiet
Using a silverado stock muffler seems like it would be the best bet, but I don't think those have a 3" in/out diameter.
There is a 06 F-250 near me that is selling all of his stock exhaust parts, which I think are 3" in/out. what do you guys think about using the muffler off of it? would it be quiet?
Also, could I use a diesel catalytic converter, or are they different from gasoline converters? I don't really want to pay for a new catalytic converter that is 3" in/out, the only reason I would get it is to prevent the gas smell of not having a catalytic converter
OR if there is a way to split the 3" pipe into (2) 2.5" pipes, I might have better options
THANKS!

you can always take the pipes that you want to use and bring them to your local muffler shop and they can open the pipe to a 3" like you want and use them like that. Good Luck.

Hey buddy I would look into the large case magnaflow or or the large found case ultraflow dynomax... both are under a 100.00 and will flow great and be fairly mellow, remember that turbo will quieten down the exhaust as well. Im very pleased with my ultraflow.
