i was thinking the same. mine didnt look quite that bad at 95k but i didnt have a possible valve seal leak either.

i used seafoam semi-regularly but only when i owned the truck so from like 70k+. once every couple oil changes i guess. dad only did regular maintenance. thanks for everyone making me feel better about the valves....if my oil consumption is still rampant after this head swap i just did, i'm going to have to sell everything i own and get a new motor because the only other real option is rings

I saw them first hand and they have a whitish Hue to them. Mine didnt have that. What causes the white coloring on the exhaust valve and the spark plug?

The 14.7:1 afr the engines run at at idle and cruise. If you are used to seeing old carb engines they aren't white like that because they rearely see anything that lean.

Lean conditions usually.
Just looking at those heads is making me want to Sea Foam mine before installing the Radix.

David, thats what i thought (lean condition = white hue) but i totally forgot that these motors are lean as **** daily driving.

yea i knew white on the plugs was lean but didnt know if it was the same with the valves. thanks for everyone's help
