Default Quick Radix Pulley Install Question

Will I need a pulley puller to get the pulley off the snout of the Radix or will it slide off with enough elbow grease, AND do I need to add loctite when I put the new pulley on?

You will need a puller and I added loctite when I changed mine. Don't know if needed or not. Couldn't hurt.

The guy who installed my radix said that an air gun would be the best way to break the bolt loose. I'm not sure about needing a press to get the new pulley on. There is a key way in between the pulley and the shaft, notice the slot cut inside the pulley. If it's like the powerdyne, you just tap the new pulley on witth the key in place and a rubber mallet is all you need. Maybe BlownChevy will chime in as he is a radix specialist. I heard the shaft on the radix is slightly tapered so it slides off easy toward the end and when the newer pulley goes on it only needs some light tapping to get it to seat all the way. But what do I know, I haven't done it yet.

The new pulley will slide on far enough to start the nut which will pull it back on. Its a press fit. DO NOT use an air gun. One of the belt type wrenchs may come in handy.

I wouldn't use the air gun to put it on, but to break it loose, seems like it would be ok?? Is there a tq value to that nut or just "tight"?

When I do it I plan to break the nut loose before I let the tension off the belt, that way you don't have to hold the pulley. Don't back it all the way off of course just a quick trigger pull to break it loose. Then loosen the belt, remove the belt off the radix pulley and unscrew all the way. Vise grips will leave burs on the pulley, and damage the grooves depending how you grab it, bad for the belt.
