Default Quick Question.. Do I NEED a timing chain for a cam install???

I have 120,000 on my 5.3... do you think I NEED a timing chain?


Those with cams, did you change yours?

i would change it just to be on the safe side.....they are only like 30 bucks....way worth it...

put in the new one.... like they said its only like 30 bucks and even if you go with a stock replacement, it will be better than a stock one with well over 100K on it.

Spend the 40$ for a LS2 chain for peace of mind. Its heavier than the 5.3L chains, and would defiently be a good idea for a motor with 120k on it.
