Default The quality of GM's multec fuel injector vs others thread

Just wondering how GM's multec injectors compare to other brands out there, who sets the standard? what is the standard? Is one type of injector considered better than another?

Post up what you know

from Delphi's website:

Multec 2 injectors are designed to meet the most stringent worldwide application requirements. The Multec 2 injector is suitable for any gasoline-alcohol mixture, on 2 or 4-valve engines. Its small design facilitates improved spray targeting, packaging and crash protection and is quiet, eliminating the need for supplemental sound deadeners. World-class durability, linear range and tight flow tolerances minimize engine out emissions throughout the vehicle’s life. Other features of the Multec 2 are:

Reduced spray variation for a better cold start and transient emissions
Multi fuels capability for worldwide applications compatibility
Multiple available lengths with packaging flexibility, improved crash protection and lower engine profiles
Cold sealing available to -50°C
Benchmark performance that provides superior linear range and low pulse width fuel control for ease of calibration and low fueling error
Narrow tip and body for optimal spray targeting to reduce the set point tolerance for improved cylinder to cylinder fuel distribution
Excellent closed valve scaling which is less than 25 percent of typical competitor tip leakage for faster starts and reduced evaporative emissions
Designed for old and new applications with a 66 percent mass reduction over typical designs
OBDII sealed connector for a contact life with the electronic component and resistance to corrosion is optimal

I agree, what if you want to go bigger? I personally feel we got the shaft, since we're the only vehicles that seem to have of come with these damned things. That makes injector choices minimal. Which injector should I choose, 8.1L marines or 8.1L marines? Personally I'm switching to a more popular style injector, because they're 1/2 the price, more plentiful and there's more choices. Death to the shorties!

I know it's not too hard to change over to bosch style injectors.

At least your fuel injectors are outside of the intake manifold, try having the injectiors inthe airflow path and being stuck with 19 lb/hr. i ahad to change my entire intake manifold to run my 29's.

GM doesnt think sometimes.
