Default pushrod length

i measured the stock cam and it measured 1.55" on the mic and the 228R measured 1.45" on the mic. TSP told me that to use stock 7.4" pushrods, but once you divide that by 2 its only .050" difference, should i put the 7.45's in it or just run the 7.4's. i dont really like the fact of only having .030" preload on the lifter since its supposed to have .080"

Did you check both intake and exhaust lobes? Mine were a little different. TSP told me to use 7.4's. I ended up W/ 7.35 w/ about .050 preload. Best bet is to get a pushrod length checker and double check, double check. .030 does seem a little loose though.

If it's not ticking you should be good to go. light preload is better than tight preload w/ hydraulic lifters, for top end power. Hydraulic lifters have a tendency to "pump up" at high rpm.
