Default Push rod ?

I'm doing a trunnion up grade and while I'm in there might swap
my set up is 6.0 .030 over 370
317 heads
block decked .018
heads milled .008
head gasket .040 cometic
Brian Tooley lifters SLR
Brain tooley double springs
tick performance cam

now I have done the " hand tighten till the push rod stops spinning then 1 1/3 turn till its TQ correctly. now This worked with both 7.375 ( guess at .030 preload) and 7.400 (guess at .065 preload). I'm running 7.375 now but do you think the 7.400 would be quitter and work better with this set up?

i dont like the "turns to torqued" method. get a pushrod length checker. $20 well spent.

The checker is at the house if you need it Brandon, but you should know exactly what you'll be at from the measurements I took when I assembled it unless you've swapped a head gasket or there's something else I don't know about. I still need to hear that noise though, that engine was pretty quiet on initial startup so you've got me wondering now. Best we just check it by swapping the pushrod out with the checker and re-measure. If anything, you can have some custom done and put it exactly where it needs to be. I would have swung by today (sold the Colt 1911 to a guy in D-ville YAY!) but I had to get to work.

I'm running a different lifters now, the BTR's. Plus a 7.375 just to see as these lifters like a different preload. I still need to check to be safe ether way.
