it is easy to get the pulley off, putting it back on is a little bit harder though. Just go to Checker (or your local auto parts shop) and rent a harmonic balancer pulley remover/installer. You have to make a deposite for the tool prob. like $40, but you'll get your $ back when you return the tool. The job goes really quickly with an impact wrench, but if you don't have an impact a 1/2' ratchet will do alright. This is the best way to go about the job. Some ppl on here said they just pryed off the pulley? If they can just pry off their harmonic balancer pulley its a really good thing they took it off b/c it prob. would have flown off sometime soon(those things should be on there really tightly. Also prying on it could potentially damage the crank. So...just rent the tool and its actually fairly easy. The instructions come with the tool on how to use it. You don't have to drain the coolant to change any pulleys. If coolant comes out when you take off the harmonic balancer you messed up big time ...Just joking ...its easy

My experience with the pulley was a bit different. I tried everything but a impact(didn't have one then) and about dropped a nut, so I took it to MTI. Yea, I wimped out. As far as the t-stat, yes try to drain the radiator. I still lost about half a gallon because, I was stooopid. Coolant is pretty cheap, don't try to reuse any you spill and catch.

I would by no means call the pulley install easy. I fought with the damn thing for two days before I took mine to a chevy mechanic and let him do it the right way. I could not get the puller on the balancer all the way because the fan blade was in the way. Trying to take the fan off was an ordeal all in itself. Unless you are pretty sharp mechanically and have all the right tools for the job, I would not even attempt this one. What took me two days and no luck, to the mechanic 25 minutes to do a great job. Plus, a Chevy mechanic will do it off the clock for really cheap. The t-stat was by far the easiest mod I have done. Just follow the instructions and everything should go somewhat smooth. Just my .02 cents.

Plugs are cheap. The NGK's I use were about $2 each. They are TR55's (copper). Stock gap is .060. I have mine gapped at .045. The plugs come with a .040 gap and some people say that you should not extend the gap by more than .015. I put mine at .45 because of the stuff I can't identify until I get my truck back
