Default proly asked already but have been :chug: since then

what would be cheaper rebuilding my 5.3 with 179000 mile or doing the 6.0 swap. want to save some money just bought a 85 honda crx yes i know ricer but im ok with that

I'd do the 6.0 myself. Probably cheaper if you can find a low mile engine to put in.

I'd go with a 6.0, you should be able to find a low mileage long block for a decent price with a little research and shopping, and a few hundred bucks will cover the PCM tuning. My biggest concern would be making sure that the trans and rear held up after being put to the test of the extra cubes and power.

Like budhayes3 said just make sure your high milage trans and rearend are up to it if not, either try to find a low milage trany and rear end or do it the right way and rebuild your trans with some high performance parts just to be on the safe side in case you ever want to mod your 6.0 and make some real power instead of working on your ricer
