I say ~420 also...I also think getting over 400 with the stock pistons and rods 4.8 means you may not have 4.8 for long. Good luck. I really need to change my name now.

How much compression are you losing with the thicker head gasket?

Low right now we think the engine is at about 10:1. We would like to think it would get down in the 9.5:1 or lower range but we really cant tell yet. What is the most power that anyone has seen out of a LS1 with stock internals???

you should be more around 9:1 comp I would imagine being a stock 4.8L and using larger cc chamber LS1 heads

The highest hp stock internals LS1 (5.7L) is somewhere around 600rwhp I don't think things last too long in that range though -even with a dead on tune.

Ryan i honestly am not sure what the comp ratio is. Agestino Racing did the heads and they said they are 9.5:1 or 9:1. I thought that they said 10:1 but when i went back and looked it was 9 or 9.5. I would like to have it be right at 9: or even lower. as for the stock internals lets just say that once they go something forged will be waiting to replace the whole set up.

Blown: it will be about a week to 2 weeks before i get the results. I told my mechanic no rush on the truck seeing as how I live in NEw England and it is winter so that means cold, wet roads. But as soon as i know the results you guys will.

454: I have a yank 3000 stall convertor
