Default Project "Sleeper"

Today, I got done installing a 02 Z06 cam and ported heads on my buddy's truck. It idles perfect and has no surge or idle problems. The truck pulls really hard beyond 4,500 to the 6,300 shift point, it would happily spin higher. It has no low rpm loss in power, which is probably due to the ported heads. It also has stock paper filter, stock intake and exhaust manifolds.
We are going to install 4.10s and put it on the rollers, we will post the results when the dyno happens. We changed the shift points, torque management, turned of COT, timing, speed and rev limiters. We will leave the fuel alone until after the dyno and a header install. After that a Vig converter should do the trick.

The Z06 cam specs are 208/219lsa117.5, I think.
The red truck is no more, he crashed it last Nov. It was a front end collision with a 80 one ton flat bed, they were both going the speed limit. Nothing was useable.
It is the white truck you saw at Hooters. You also saw the damaged heads at Hooters. Mike Smith Machine fixed the heads, which I stongly recommend to anyone who needs machince work.
The truck really needs some gears and a converter.

yeah, Foster over at Mike Smith is gonna do my 5.3 heads probably whenever i get ready to do another set of heads. but that'll be a while since these S2 6.0 heads are pretty nice. i'll have to find that White truck around one day and see how it runs.

The Z06 cam (o2 and up) specs are 204/218 .551/.555 lift on a 117. LSA. If it is a 01, those specs are 204/211 .525/.525 on a 116 LSA.

Generally speaking it is best to use at least the 02' Z06 springs (yellow) or some 918s.
