Default problems w/front axles breaking?

hey guys, went to the shop today to see about my transfer case/axle, going to throw it on the rack tomorrow. anyway his first reaction when i said i broke something was "the front axle right?" . i asked why he said that and he told me alot of guys with new chevys have been snapping the axle at the inboard cup. he said they downsized the cup on the newer chevys. i know alot of you guys are doing full throttle 4hi launches at the strip, any problems ? they can install old style axles [new] for $375, but i'm not going to do it unless you guys are breaking them. like everything else the down side to not doing it is, if it goes it can do collateral damage. let me know, thanks e
