Default Problems! Problems!!! Problems!!!!!!!!

Hey Gang how ya Doing?

I have a 2002 Silverado with 5.3 Engine!

How many of you guys have removed your cats?

I am having a problem. If I let my truck Idle for 2 or 3 Mins and Hit the Gas I see Bluish Smoke come out of the exhaust. It smells like it is gas instead of oil.

Have any of you that have removed your cats let you truck Idle for about 3 mins and hit the gas experienced this?

It doesn't smoke if I let it set overnight or two or three days. So I wonder if it could be gas. I am using O2 Simulators from Caspers Electronics to fool the computer into thinking I still have cats.

How much Does the rear O2 Simms have on the air fuel ratio if any?

Please read and let me know <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

The whole purpose of the cats is to burn off that extra fuel you are now seeing coming out your exhaust. By removing them you can now see how much fuel is unburned through normal combustion. There is nothing wrong with this. You can compensate for the !cats by leaning out the mixture with the fuel pressure regulator. The factory tunes in little extra fuel to keep the cats cool so cutting a few PSI will not hurt and you may also pick-up a few HP.

The O2 simms have no effect on A/F. They are simply ther for OBDII emmissions - testing Cat efficiency.
