Default problem with new engine

got the engine running today but got a problem..... got a terrible idle.... sounds like its got a crazy *** cam in their but its stock... give it a little gas and the hole truck shakes like its in a earth quake.... i finally got enough ***** to give it more gas and it seemed to level out and run better after about 2000 rpm.... i had the truck running maybe 30 seconds and the drivers side header was very very hot i could touch the other one it was warm but the drivers side burned the **** out of me and i just tapped it.... its dark now so i just need some ideas to look for tomorrow so i have some clue what I'm looking for.... i miss that truck and its killing me not being able to drive it...

Thanks

LES

check pressure...... also may have a bad injector, or leaky.... was one header tube hotter tahn the rest?? or was the whole left bank hot?? theres a few things you need to check... first is fuel delivery... it sounds like a leaky injector... and maybe just putting a lil too much fuel in a few cylinders, which would explain it stabilizing at above 2000 rpm.... because the cylinders d whats called clearing out. anotherwards once you get it runnin faster, clears out all the extra fuel, and stabilizes, but if injectors are leaking, you will get fuel puddling on top of valve, and basically just running fat.... needs to be addressed immediately or your cats are gone

Have you checked the valve train? Did you set the rocker correct. Just a thought if you havent.
