man run a compression test on it. if it has good compression then all is well with the vslves and all closing. 7.35 would be the the rods i would run. valve train noise is going to be there due to cam and springs. mine sounds like a sewing machine with my cam. 224-224-581-581-112+4 and the comp springs. and i think the pinging is coming from the raised compressin as well. a lot of tuning is going to be needed to get it to run properly. good luck.

Ive been thinking of adjustable rockers which would help with my setup. The real thing thats hurting is not being able to increase the timing due to compression. Im also doing a leak down and compression test this week. But since you know more about my setup and have built so many high compression 5.3 enlighten me. Im really getting tired of your attitude.

I agree shaving the heads was bad. not only did you decrease the amount of lift you can run but you threw off the geometry of the entire valvetrain. My advice is yank the heads and try to sell them to an 'all out racer'. buy some stock heads and do a little work on them but not go crazy. I personally would stay with the stock valve size and work on the intake and exhaust ports. You would be really surprised how much better it would run. there is no 'quick fix' for your problem. you simply cannot add the aluminum back that is gone. that is why at this point I say cut your losses and start over. life's lesson's learned. I would stay away from any machine shop that will shave .050 off a head without seriously questioning the motive. Good luck in your struggles....I know how frustrating it can be. We all make mistakes. live and learn.

Now lets have piece.
NOW **** OFF!!!!!!

Oh and one other thing just because I didnt jump on the band wagon and go with a thinder racing cam or a 6.0 swap and do everything that everyone else has allready done, doesnt mean I wont reach my goals. Its not reaching the goal as much as it is getting there thats the payoff.

For 26 years old you sure have a punk *** attitude.Maybe you should ask yourself why nobody spoke up about you taking off.050 before you paid someone to put them on.Could it be because everyone knew that it would be like talking to the wall?If you have so much money why didnt you do things right like good heads from a real LS1 porter? If your such a Mr.GoodWrench why did you have to pay someone to do what you claim to know how to do and they screwed that up Some of your big bucks did you lot of good.Hey mr. i have more money than you,i bet my home shops worth more than the house **** box you own,Oh wait you have an apartment.Just admit it you fucked up and threw $2K away, good thing your rich.
