How much did you plan to spend on the cam, heads, and all the supporting mods?

By the sounds of it you would be MUCH happier with a used MP112 from the classifieds. It will give you way more power there you seem to want it.

Thanks SaltwaterCowboy,
You have a little larger cam and a fast 102 making 350/365 so if I can hit 330 with my setup that would be great. I think I will just run the cam and some Boltons and see if I am happy with the results. Might try to pick up a used MP112 in the future. I tow up in the Rockies so I think the boost would be better then hi compression...

Oh god for towing a H/C/I combo will never be as strong where you need it as force feedign the motor.

If it was me I would abort your current plans and start saving for that 112 and headers.

Boost seems to really help at high elevations, that's probably the way I need to go. I might still think about the PRC 243's if I can find a good used set for a nice price.

I know some cams are much better then others for forced induction, how would a 216/220 .560" lift on a 114 work with 7psi of boost?

It'll be ok. There are a lot better.

It's hard to tell you without specifics about advance or retard ground into it. What I can say is that a larger split between intake and exhaust duration would work better. Say 216/224

Hey,
My cam is a 216/220 .560" lift, 110LCA with 114LSA, so I think that means I have 4-deg advanced ground into it. I think I am going to just run the cam with my stock 317's for now. I do have a Volant CAI and Doug's ceramic headers. I'm sure I will be getting the itch for the PRC stage 1 LS6 heads in about 6 months, so I can give some figures of before / after numbers.

By the way, I have a reputable performance shop doing the install for $550 labor, $350 full street tune. They are going to install the below, does this sound like a good deal for the labor?

Cam, rods & dual PRC springs
New valve seats, seals and retainers
New Ported LS6 oil pump
New LS2 timing chain
New spark plugs 1-deg colder
