Default Is it possible? 5.3 with 315 WHP.

Is it possible to achieve those numbers with a 2007 gen IV LMG 5.3 with 243 heads, 1-3/4" Arh Headers, Airaid Jr. Kit, comp cams 212/218 114 LSA cam, Blackbear Tune, 4.30 gears and 31.5" tires.

My buddy says it cant be done with those mods only. He says i wont break the 300hp mark.

I don't know much about cams, but I'm sure that you could be right at 300whp with the right cam, tune, and other mods you mentioned!

It's not impossible, but slightly more cam would have helped you achieve those higher HP numbers while peaking at a higher RPM/

should get it. I hit 380 with 243s cam headers stall...the tires may hurt you a little

Just dyno'd my jeep
It has a 2001 5.3 in it rides on 35x12.5x15s

Mods are gmt900 intake, baby thumper cam and true dual 2.5"
This combo was dyno'd on a mustang Dyno and made
Pulls were made in 3rd instead of 4th (cause of tire speed)
292/306

So yes a newer 5.3 with more compression and better heads on a Dyno jet will read higher

Thanks for the responses. My goal was to hit at least 300WHP on a mustang dyno. I would have went with a larger cam with a stall but i do tow 6500-7000lbs. I have yet to do the cam install. Im getting all the parts ordered now. 212/218 114lsa cam, dod delete kit, ls2 timing chain, correct cam sprocket, ls6 valve springs, complete engine gasket and seal kit including valve seals.

We have a $100 dollar bet that i wont hit 300hp. But we shall see. By the looks of it im seeing people around 300-320whp with a close setup to mine.

You will be pretty close. I would guess you hit the goal. Kind of depends on the factory motor. Some are better than others.
