Shaner does it. I can't grantee the gains, but its worth it.

 

You lose 4-5 rwhp below 4000 rpm, and gain the same above 4000rpm. I did a back to back dyno on my tuned 5.3 with CAI before the s/c. I am just too lazy to post of the dyno graphs, someday I will.

 

I did a ported TB on my 5.3 Colorado before doing a dynotune and noticed the truck had more snap to it and felt smoother.

 

as long as done right i dont see how it can hurt it. as new truck motors come factory with 90mm. or just shy of it.

 

technically, its not bored out. you cant put a larger throttle blad in it. but the inlet is smoothed out and ported. i noticed no gains in the butt meter, but it does have better throttle response and part throttle driving. you will need to get a tune or retuned if you are already
