Ported DBW throttle body
Anyone having any luck with porting their drive by wire throttle bodies? I haven't seen many running them, but I'm considering having Shaner or Cammin_BeaSSt port one for me.

I polished mine and removed about half of the step on the lower area. I did not get close to the blade. No issues. It looks like anyone who did more that L33Z71 or I did has issues.

I smoothed mine out a little bit, but didn't do any reshaping or anything. I took the ripple out of it more than anything, in front of and behind the blade.
BigTex had one he polished, but he reemed it out a good bit and reshaped the whole thing. Seems like I remember him having some serious idle issues with that one.

It seems that most are doing it themselves, I think I'd rather let someone who is familiar with them do it. The dbw ones seem a lot more sensitive. Any body have a spare stock tb lying aorund?

You can cut your blade in half. I did a lot to the entry and exit of the TB but didn't touch the humps that the tb needs for transition flow. As far as gains with what I did, I don't know.

GM spent millions flowing that TB for maximum driveability, I know some will disagree but there are not any real gains to be found from a porting job on the TB. You would get more from a larger TB.
I know Scoggins Dicky is VERY close to having the 90mm LS2 TB working on the trucks....I will be testing their set up next week, I hope.

I disagree. When I had the blower .. I could tell the difference in the stock TB and the ported one. At the time I was trying to rule out what turned out to be a tuning issue. I had smoothed out the one on the truck and suspected it to be a problem, so I bought another one. Turns out not to be the problem, but it did run better with the worked over TB. I can't remember exactly the differences, but I know it was enough to warrant leaving it on.
