has anybody got thier heads P&P on a 4.8, 5.3, or 6.0 yet. if so did it help and how much.

 

ported heads alone are typically worth about 20 rwhp on our LS1 based motors. That is assuming you are sticking with the stock exhaust manifolds and the stock camshaft. Add headers and a cam, and it would be possible to see alot more potential.

There is a guy that I know is having some done. I don't know him, but I know the person doing them. They are 5.3 heads going on a 4.8. When they get done I'll try to find out the outcome. If good, I'm going to do my 4.8's.

They may be the same heads, I just said it that way because the head getting done are from a 5.3 . I may be working out a deal with him on mine. It's "The Head Shop" in Houston on Airport. I'll try to get some $$$ info in a couple days.

Looks like $1000 to $1300 with stock guts. I don't know if that includes a 3 angle valve job on the seats or not. I got something working on this, I'll let you know the verdict soon. I finally heard from the Hamm header guys (long pissed off story) and may be getting those in a week or two. If that happens, I'll have to wait on the P/P.
