Just so you can see the difference between them.
The LS2/6 springs should be fine.

LS6 204/218 .555/.551 117.5
LS2 204/211 .525/.525 116
ISKY 208/214 .553/.561 114

yeah the isky looks real good compared with the other 2 lol likeing the lobe separation... and im thinking if the yellow springs are good to .570" they will def work, i sent him a pm btw... now maybe i should put up a thread to see if anyone can get me a timing set and gaskets cheap lol...

a little off topic... who has experience with nelson tuning? i was originally going to have them mail me a chip with the efans turned on... but now i think i should get a custom tune done at the same time... will i be able to just give them my cam specs/mods and they burn me a chip?? i figured i might as well get a custom tune while im getting the efans turned on to save some shipping and turnaround time and i cant run the fans until i have the chip anyway

i never opened up an LS engine, ive built a few conventional GM smallblocks though so ive been watching some install videos on youtube... is the oilpump right there on the crank gear like on the LS3 and should i just replace it with an ls6 pump while im in there? or can i get away with the stocker, it has no problems now and the pressure is always normal ill check and see if i can get a number... you dont have to remove the lifters due to being springloaded?? ive read that there is no timing chain tensioner on the 5.3L, correct? seems like all the basics are the same as any cam swap ive done before, just a few different particulars... does the timing cover gasket set come with waterpump gaskets? looks like they do... if thats the case i should only need the timing set gaskets, and intake gaskets correct?? which makes the cam swap even cheaper then i originally thought anyone know the cheapest place to get an LS2 timing set?? i found it for 105 shipped on ebay and summit has a Comp set for $85(w/shipping itll be 95)

*** REVISED cam swap price list(thanks to BeatdownZ) so far:
cam = 200ish
waterpump gasket set = 20ish
ls2 timing chain = 50 shipped
oil/ antifreeze = 60 ish(already have it)
forgot the ls6 springs = 25$ (got them in a package deal with the LS2 valves for $50 shipped)
total = $375sh give or take

does autozone have a valve spring compressor i can rent?? im gonna call them now...

Personally i wouldnt run used springs on something im gonna drive every day, thats just me tho...You can get a brand new set of ls9 springs from lingenfelter for $40 more...

What he wants for that cam is a smokin deal being its brand new in the box still...
I have a similar cam that im going to run yellows on also...

Look on ls1 tech for the incar spring changer, there are several for $20-$50...

thanks andrew but its a little too late for that lol the springs were on a 55k LS2 in an auto gto they were pulled for some doubles so this guy could run 630 lift, i did however find a tool that i hope is still available for $35 so lets keep our fingers crossed... my truck doesnt really see too much extended time at wot accept on the highway and i have a speed limiter now lol gets a little exciting at 95mph sometimes on these roads around here i will go to the track a few times, but after i see what she runs and get her dialed in i probably wont go back as i have a drag car... also have 2 other cars if the need to race arises lol but if i had cash to burn i would def not run used springs so in a way, i agree with you... my wallet however does not think new springs are a good idea im actually on the fence about new pushrods

This is the cam that I'm running in my 5.3 with milled LS6 heads and Lt's... it's a beast from about 3k up (should work really well with your stall, I just picked one up from Circle-D myself) Every engine simulation I put it on puts it at just over 400 at the crank, don't know how accurate they are, but I'm assuming that it means I should be at least 375 at the crank for sure.

EDIT : Also, I'm running the "yellow" LS6 springs. Cam specs on this cam are 216/220 @ .525/.532

i wonder how much power im giving up using the stock heads?? maybe you could do a sim for me using the cam you have with stock heads and 1 for the isky cam i am considering? would be nice to know which one would make more power, and if they are close, which seems very likely, which one makes more power "under the curve" btw right now my engine basically lives between 3-5k when accellerating with 2200 being cruise rpm at 79 mph
