Well, since I'm gonna change my cam soon I was gonna' change my plugs at the same time with the TR55s, if I need to. Which plugs do I have now? If I have iridiums or platinums ,then I prolly won't change them unless I can gain something from doing so. I pulled my plug boot and used a mirror to get some #'s from the plug, all I could get was 126623 or 326621 and they were the stock AC Delco and had a blue center on the tip where the plug wire connects. Does this help? I realy don't feel like pulling one ,but I will if need be, but I thought somebody on here might know instead. BTW ,mine is an .03 5.3 Thanks in advance.

HOw can I tell if they're iridiums>? Sorry to be stupid *** on this, but I've never really gandered at iridiums! I know what platinums look like, but what is the "tell" if they're iridiums? Are TR-55's iridiums? or what's the big hoopla with them anyway? I know the advantages of a good spark plug with the right heat index, but WTF would I change platinum 100K plugs for if not to get a real benefit of an upgrade? I guess what I'm saying is, if I don't have iridium, is it worth the upgrade and why? Thanks 02Denali, you da' man!!!!!

keep your stock plugs and wires. they are probably platinums.
i think the iridiums and those TR-55's and TR-6's are more used by guys using nitrous or superchargers

Keuka, after reading a bunch last night I've come to the conclusion most people running NA engines are running the NGK TR55, copper plugs. The TR6's are a colder plug, mostly for folks running boost or juice. I'll prolly go with the tr55's because I have always had great luck with NGKs in the past and could give a rat's *** about platinum plugs. Very interesting what low2000 said, I only have 26K, and hate to change out 100K mile plugs, but for piece of mind, you can't put a price on that!
