Default Please help asap did something stupid

I seriously dropped a f'n socket into the gas tank from the fill neck. Yes, it actually happened lol. So leave it or drop the tank? I pulled the fill neck hoping it was in there, it wasnt...

Use a strong *** magnet and get the socket to stick to it and fish it up to the fill neck hole.

Send it. Idk how it would block anything. But definitely trying the magnet first. Two magnets actually. One to get through the tank and drag it to the filler neck and the second on a rod or something down the filler neck.
