Please HELP!!!. I want some Headers for my SIL. I am stuck between the AZ Speed and Lapoles with the PV cat back. AZ Speed claims some resonable#s' <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" /> for their headers. I also spoke to John at PV and he claimed 50 HP with their new setup on their mule. I know those #s' seem high but he gave me a good quote on the headers and cat back. Any opinions will help.

 

i don't think you can go wrong either way. i've never heard bad about either of them.

 

50 Hp it not reasonable. 30 maybe if you are really corked up right now.

ASM make a good product. Not completely sure about the Lapole, but I think it is a mid length header. The ASMs have larger primary tubes and are longer than most others.

I bought my Hamm headers (mid-length) and had to deal with John @ PV then. It was a hassle to get them and I would prefer not to deal with him again. I would pay the extra $$$ and get a more professional product. Not knocking the quality of my headers at all, they are great. It was having to get them through John that I didn't like.

 

I don't care what you do, 50 hp from headers and a muffler is bullshit. <img border="0" alt="[jester]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[shoot]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_guns.gif" /> John tries to sell his products on any FREE message board that he can get to. I read his post on pacific-audio and it was bullshit then and is bullshit now. Some people are happy with his products and they have worked for them but I don't like his advertising practices and it seems nobody wants to deal with working with him. Zummo got rid of him, then Hamm got rid of him.
You should have read the post over at fullsize chevy. He really got his panties in a wad over that one. I for one have wasted a lot of money but not one cent will ever go to him. Trust me, he will reappear with the same <img border="0" alt="[bullshit]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_bs.gif" /> now and again trying to sell his products. 50 hp my ***.

 

I am debating over some ASM's or the new Thorleys that are coming out. ASM's = $750 , Thorleys = $419, tough decision. Whatever you do, don't get Gibson's, mine are rusted and showed no performance gains.

I think we were in the same GP weren't we? Remember all the delays in getting them? I have to give Kenny (BigKID) props for being so patient with me and probably other guys while we waited for the headers. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

I have no complaints with my Hamm headers, they are really good quality but John's business practices suck. I think everyone had gotten their headers but mine hadn't shown up yet. Well a few weeks went by and still no headers. So I call John while he was still at PV and he tells me that they got shipped to the wrong address and that they are waiting for the other party to send them back so they can get resent to me. I ask him why he didn't just send another set of headers to me and when the other party returns thier set everything will be squared away? He said they couldn't do that, that it would work best if they got the other set back. He then proceeds to ask me again if I had California emissions on my truck which told me right then that they hadn't even been built yet. He then says that I should have my headers by the end of the week. This phone conversation was on a monday. Along came friday and still no headers. I waited until the following friday and still no headers. I called him again on that same friday and asked where my headers where and he said they had already been sent out. I then asked for a tracking number but he said he couldn't find it. Once again, I knew they hadn't even shipped. Finally early the next week I get an e-mail with the tracking number and my headers arrived sometime after. All I know is is that if I ever buy headers again, it wont be through him. Sorry for the long rant.

 

I guess I will go with the ASM headers. I really apriciate your responce guys. Besides the ASM look so bad *** installed. I saw a set on a 2k2. I was thinking the same thing about the 50hp being BS. Set the product aside for a second and I'll tell you that over 4 months (after promised) and several non-replied to emails that I said so long to Hamm for good. Then the week after I tell them that I have decided to go elsewhere, I get an email wanting payment that they are ready to ship. I tell them that I now have AS&M's from TBYRNE and I canceled a week before he goes on a song and dance about how great their product is and so on and so on. I never once said they had a bad product and still won't but thier customer service ranks right up there with a bag of hot air. I have some pics of my AS&M HERE on my mods page . Good luck.
