oh its clearly hitting the windage tray. ill upload pics of the tray later. i found the scrap marks on the tray. i bought some washers to space it farther from the crank. the reason its hitting is i have a 4.000 stroke crank 6.125" rods. i never clearly stated it was a 383 stroker because im dumb and expect everyone to be a mind reader.

there is my problem. used some washers to space it away from the crank and the engine turns over great.

Good thing you found it. There is nothing more sickening than finding a problem while in the middle of build. It just gives you knots in your stomach till the problem is found and resolved. If your problems are like mine it's always well past midnight when they are discovered.

its now 1 am and im just done re reassembling my engine and i have yet to torque the heads down and i still need to learn how to set the roller rockers.
