I have read that before as well, but everyone is still going .030 over with no problems

That about sums it up, thanks. The only other question, would be, which cylinder head? Obviously I am not needing huge flow numbers or anyhting, and I know that a stock head is what I am after, but whcih is the best of the best of the stock heads. I know most of them are the same except combustion chamber size, and the LS1 with 2.00 intake valve, etc...Are there any other know benefits to some of the stock heads out there I should be looking for, and if so, what casting numbers? Thanks.

I thought that going 30 over wasnt really a problem. What does a 423 work out to be?? I know the iron blocks are capable of that.
