Default Pic of 4" intake tube for less than $159

I'm not the first to do this, but here's a pic.
The aluminum tube and elbow are about $30 with shipping.
The silicone coupler is about $20 with shipping.
I plan to add an elbow to the coolant hose to get it under the tube.

And yes I know aluminum conducts heat fast. I'll check intake temps soon with hpt and see if it's noticable.

PS this is how the aluminum tube looks when you get it. I'm sure it would polish up easily. (+15 horse)

Where did you get it, and what are the part numbers?

That looks pretty sweet, i wonder if it can be done with a 4" plastic tube wich website did you get the cupler and elbow from, that would look ever better colormatched to the truck or a flat black to look sorta stock.

Did you feel any difference other than the growl? sorry for the many questions

You're right about the radiator hose needing to be moved. It will conduct straight to your Al. tubing and heat it up very quickily. Your IAT's won't reflect this though, because your IAT sensor is before it.

I've seen a few trucks set up like that. You can adapt the stock radiator hose clip/hanger to work. Maybe use a heavy duty zip tie to attach the clip to the tube or screw it in with a small self-tapping sheetmetal screw.

I guess I didn't think about the IAT location.
Plastic has to be better, but how much?
I would like to put a sensor in the middle of the intake... hmmm

I did get a little more sound from it, but nothing like a K&N setup.
Just a nicer note, and at a certain rpm under load, you do hear a sort of howl, but it's minimal.

I don't know if this is cool, but maybe if I don't link?
I got my elbow and aluminum tube from airflo.com
silicone coupler from hightempsilicone.com

Does that 90 degree elbo work with the stock fan shroud.
