Default Performance Cats?

Will changing out my cats for better flowing ones make much of a difference with my current set-up? How much difference in HP or torque?
What kind is recommended that meets C.A.R.B.?
Bolt on? or Weld?
Thanks!!

He's right...your OEM cats flow pretty darn good as compared to the older ones.....but if you insist on more flow.....just cut them off and gut them! I gutted mine, in all of an hour and had my Pipeline working friend to weld them back up real nice. Works for me...and cheaper too....

Amazing what a Sawzall and a slate bar can do!

You will pick up more than you think regarless of how the newer cats flow in comparison to the older ones the stock y pipe and cats flow like **** next to a straight through design. You will pick up alot more than you think get rid of the crappy stock y pipe while your at it. In my opinion this is a must do mod especially if you go with an aftermarket cam.
Just to give you an idea after I redid the stock y pipe with no cats, mandrel u bends, flowmaster ypipe and a cutout I picked up around .35 in the 1/8th costs me 200 bucks to do it with someone else welding
