i know they are good suggestiosn to get the BB tune but I cant afford the down time to send out the computer to get programmed by BB..its my only vehicle...the impression I got was I had to send the computer and it took a couple of wks to get it back from BB... maybe someday when I have another vehicle i can afford the down time... Anyway, i've moved on from tuning now anyway...I checked into the pacesetter long tube headers which look good and are a bit cheaper... does anyone know if there is a noticable power increase with long tube vs short tube or stock?

Yes there will be a noticeable difference with longtubes mid length headers are a waste. I used 1 7/8 for my build and am happy with them so far. I know you have the tuning down at this point I'm just going to say to take full advantage of the headers a hand held tuner is not going to get it done.

You could have paid BB for a core (around 100) and bought the tune. They would then program another PCM and send it to you. You install it and remove the stock one and send it back. When they receive it, they refund the core charge. Not much down time that way. Plus, the only way to really take advantage of the long tubes is to tune for them. Your bully dog programmer is a tune that is ever so slightly better than stock. You will not get nearly as much benefit from the headers with that as you would with a BB tune that is made specifically to take advantage of the mods you have done to your engine. They way I see it, you are getting less for your money on the headers because your tune doesn't take full advantage of it.

no point in giving our opinion on headers cause you will just do what you want anyway.
we tried helping with the tune and you went the opposite way and you will regret it later

get gibson shorty headers, remove the muffler for a chrome auto zone one, get autozone red colored air filter (red because it adds way more power than any other color, and i hear that NOS sticker and red bull in the fuel tank helps out. it gives your truck wings bro.

maybe he will buy long tubes and the correct parts now.

oc couse i'm going to do what i want it's my vehicle...greasemykey what made you go with shorty headers? from what i've gathered long tube provides more power...i think i'd get a flowmaster muffler though that would prob be more for sound than anything else...already got a kn cold air intake

i can do a 4G negative dive with a MIG 28.

OP i ran gibson shorties and a diablo predator tuner. i wish someone on here would have kicked me right in the dick for being stupid and wasting a good 700 bucks.
