Default People running 11.5+CR how are you liking it?

I have been doing some rethinking on my future setup. I was just wonder who is running a higher compression motor, mainly 11-12 CR and how your liking it. Any problems. BTW, i would like real life experiences not the normal, "you will need race gas", "you can't run any timing", etc...

I ran 11+ with my 408 and my tvs1900 with 7lbs of boost....and 20 degrees of timing on pump gas with no knock issues, just a rediculous amount of torque.

If the thing is going to be making any decent VE (100%+) or BMEP you will run into problems over 11.5:1 on pump. No question about that.

For any street motor i wouldnt go over 11.25:1 personally unless it was a rather lame combo.

But didn't your motor blow up after a short time?

One of the crank bearings was bad, but as far as the pistons and heads and everything else that might be assosciated with running too high of a compression ratio, was perfect.

You guys need to post up your cam specs too. Thats what dictates you dcr more than anything, scr is only one piece of the puzzle to running pump gas on a high scr engine.

Well i was thinking about throwing my PRC Stage 2.5 862 on my LQ9, they are 58cc so I would be using a .060 Head gasket.

Ya, DCR would be nice or cam specs and I can figure it out from there...
