Default People with headers, warning

So I was under the truck...I noticed my tranny line was touching the primary on my headers. I grabbed one of the little black plastic clips that holds the trans lines close together and slid it down to get my tranny line off the header. It had damn near rubbed through. I don't know how long it was touching but, thought I'd post up so you guys could look at it next time you crawl under.
I'm pretty sure had it rubbed through, it would have been fire time. And the beggining of another "My truck burned to the ground" thread.
You can kind of see where the lines were rubbing and left a little rust mark on the primary tubes.

Tie-wrap 'em away, if possible.

Could wrap that part of the header in some of that heat shielding wrap.. could slow the abrasion and prevent further damage maybe?

I made sure to look for all of that before I cranked mine up after installing headers. Only place they are close to is the starter heat shield and frame. But yea headers are kinda pesky like that but still worth it IMO.

I took a peice of hanger the actual heavy duty rubber that your exhaust hooks to the hanger by. Placed this in slits to keep things away like that and to stop all rubbing on my 4wd with my headers and exhaust. worked like a charm and I have no issues any longer.

Noticed that with mine on my pacesetters. Not only do they touch the tranny lines, but my steering shaft is rubbing on the driver side where the bolt stick out and a few of my spark plug wires were touching at the base. I used the wires from an 06 corvette I think with the bend to solve the wire problem. I was worried about the headers making the tranny lines hot and causing the fluid to heat up more than anything. I was able to pull them away from the headers and check them from time to time. Good find.

When is this again? WTF man! Do i need to drive down there, BBQ, and drink beer just to get a foot in your *** or did you swap setups again?

I need to get mine off the header ASAP. Ever since i got my new motor in, it has been touching the header and i have known about it. Excellent thinking! Only i might not mind if my **** burns to the ground.
