awesome info, but if I run a single catch can that has a filter on it, can I still use it on the pcv side?

Anyone still following this? I have a 2007 gmt 900 so the current body style gmc sierra 5.3. Just bought a catch can, from what I have seen on the threads so far, is that it hooks up to the drivers side valve cover, and the other hose goes to the top of the intake manifold (under the large plastic vortec cover, top of engine) is this correct? I see some guys are talking about something on the passenger side valve cover....?

Here's my Lowe's-made cheap-*ss catch can ($38.00 for parts) that works like a champ.

And the hoses to the valve cover and the top of the intake manifold. I just snipped the stock pipe in the middle and put the hoses on with clamps. I'll splice it back together if I ever trade the truck.

Can someone post a parts list to build your own or a link of where to buy one? I had one on my Lightning years ago but cannot remember where I got it.

Well, the Lowe's (or Home Depot, Grainger, ect.) project is pretty simple.

1 air/water separator from the tools department of ____________(fill in the blank).
6 feet of 3/8" rubber fuel/vacuum hose.
4 3/8" hose clamps.
2 3/8"x3/8" 90 degree hose barbs.
Something like the synthetic A/C filter material that I cut into circular pieces to take the place of the metallic filter element inside the separator.
Something to make your mounting bracket out of.

Screw it all together, mount it up, and cut the pcv line from the valve cover up to the intake manifold and attach the rubber hoses with the clamps.

There; you're done. Wasn't so hard or was it?

I have a catch can coming in soon and I'm following this thread, if connecting the can on the driver side is correct. I'm confused because the link in post 13, the pictures in there have all the can connected on the passenger side???
