PCM or tranny?

I've got a 02 sierra w/5.3, Gen 2 fipk,TT3000,Transgo shift kit and a Wester's tune. After I installed the verter and shift kit (before the tune)I noticed the truck would fall on it's face after the1-2 shift and to a lesser degree after the2-3 shift. I understood this to be a normal situation due to TM. Now I've got my tune and while it's much better, there is still a "lag" after the shifts. Lyndon says it could be my tranny failing to release from first before shifting to second. What do you guys think? My gut says it's still pulling timing. How can I determine the cause? I know someone is gonna say I should have got a nelson tune, but I got what I got(GP from TByrne). I have no logging software so I need a alternate method of determining whats going on if possible. Thanks.

I dont think it is your tune. I think I have the same stutter you are refering too but mine only does it occasionally. I also have a TT3000 on a stock tranny with transgo/vette servo. I tuned mine my self and have made numerous logs so I know all tqm is gone and I see no timing drop on the shifts. BTW.. mine ony does it at part throttle. WOT shifts are quick and crisp.

It is abuse modes and TQM. Mine did it as well until I removed them all.
Your tranny is fine. It feels like it stumbles, then out of no where it FEELS like you just give it more gas. The one I hated is when it would switch back and forth.
The PCM thinks the tranny is slipping so it pulls timing to let it catch back up, when it realizes it isn't catching up or has met the requirements, it will restore timing.
