Default Passenger Side O2 Sensor Question

I have a 2001 Silverado with Speed Engineering Long Tubes. Every time it rains where I live I end up hitting a puddle and messing up the passenger side O2 sensor. Is there anything can do to prevent this from happening?

I'll hit a puddle come to a stop the truck will begin to shack the check engine light comes on with a p0174 code. I know I shouldn't but I unplug that O2 sensor it begins to run better, I replace it and all is well until it rains again. And I am using Ac delco o2's

Buy some of that heat wrap stuff or wire loom/spark plug wire wrap and cover the sensor and harness with it. Now it shouldn't get all wet.

The O2 sensors are supposed to be able to get wet, right? I mean, I've had mine submerged crossing streams and what not and never had a problem. He might have a compromised sensor.

Yeah I know and it's surely odd to hear of this problem.

When it says he's replaced it already and it comes back when it get wet again makes me think something is getting wet that shouldn't. So something in the harness. I'd inspect all that and cover the rest just to be sure.
