Default Pacesetter Y pipe

Anyone else had to remove theirs? Mine was a complete PITA. I got them on then later that day. (about 20 hours) I smoked yet another tranny , so the Y pipe had to come off. With the help of a torch, and a BFG, and a goon, I finally got it. Has anyone else had this problem? I think Im gonna try to get some collectors and weld on there and just weld the Y pipe together. Any opinions on this, and how hard is it going to be to weld on the ceramic coating?

I had the same problem with mine. Best bet is go ahead like you said and weld on some collectors. The welding on the ceramic is not too bad. Just got to make sure to burn through the ceramic. The welds will most likely not look pretty.

You can use V-band's or do like we do on all of our Panoz race cars at work. Simply load the **** out of the pipe with silver antiseize before sliding the pipes together. Makes removal rather easy.
