Pacesetter LT Advice

OKay guys, I got some questions that I could use your input on.
I'm going to buy a set of Pacesetter LT's for the ol 2003 GMC 5.3 4X4 and I was wondering if any of you guys have had any fitment problems with them? Are they a basically easy install? Any tips to make the install easier? What gaskets do you reccomend for use?
Also...if anyone has the part number for the painted 4X4 LT's?
Last....does anyone know where the best buy on the Pacesetter LT's are?

fitment was good for the money. i got them at summit but i think texas speed ----------> has the best deal right now. i bought some oem gaskets from a dealer. i dont know the part number for the painted ones but you dont want them unless you have some way of coating them.
tips: take the fender wells out, use a 1/4" drive and short 10mm socket for the bolts closest to the firewall (backside of the heads), use antiseize on the bolts, get some ramps to drive up on, unbolt the steering shaft, soak the bolts in wd-40 or pb blaster the night before, take your plug wires off, you can take your spark plugs out if you want but its not required, if you get the pacesetter ory dont use the supplied clamps, get some good ones from summit like dynatechs stainless 2 bolt style, also drop your trans crossmember if you use the ory, some say to buy new bolts but fine worked fine and my truck is 7 years old, i cant think of anything else, other than that just take your time.

Blake2Kz71......thanx for the advice! That's some good info on the bolt size and removing the strng. shaft.
I'm going for the painted ones because they are much, much cheaper. Plus, I have a business friend that will coat them for me for free. The same guy also said he'd coat the inside too. Whatever that will do.
I ain't going after the Y Pipe, strictly because my shop has all the pipe benders and welder and so forth that I may need. So....I'm going to fab up my own Y.
Have you had any problems with any type of exhaust leak?

yeh they leak a little, but iv never seen a set of headers that dont leak at all. i can barely hear the leak but its there. well texas speed has the coated headers and y pipe for $515.99. the only reason i went with the y is so i wouldnt have to weld on the headers and i can take it all apart if i want to. but its up to. if i had it all to do over again i would have bought a catback exhaust also. the pacesetter kit comes with a 3 bolt flange thats made for a catback setup so then theres no cutting or welding involved.

Its not necessary to take your sprak plugs out, but I would. I cracked two of mine when I put my headers on. It was a long 30 miles to the shop at 20mph with open headers and a backfire everynow and then

i just took all my egr stuff off and used a block off plug on the intake and used the supplied blockoff plate on the headers. the passenger side is definately a pita compared to the driver side.

my only complaint is my drivers side header rubs my steering shaft at full turn
