Default p307 #7 miss

well... cllinders 1 and 7 are still missing at idle, and they run fine from 1500 rpm and above. so here is the list of things ive tried, new plugs - switch wires- switch coils- check valve springs- checked timing- checked for spark (shocking as ever!) cylinder 7 misses about 4 times for every cylinder # 1's 1. i dong think cylinder nuber 7 is even making any power at idle. im leaving it up to you guys to descide what to do.... also,, my boost level has stayed the same. and doesnt seem to have decreased.

ahhh, ohhhhhhhhh. number 7 , time for a compresion check

on blown motors it seems that the number 7 piston is often the first to go, not trying to scare you or anything but i have seen it happen a few times now to diferent people on this board.

Yea .. I was thinking the same thing .. but only at idle ........

Is it a dead miss or just sparatic? Unless it was a dead miss I wouldn't worry much about it. It may be firing, just not as well as the PCM thinks it should be, so it registers it as a miss.

If you've burnt up the rings in #7, it may be loosing its compression in low rpms, and not have enough compression to fire. Above 1500rpms its spinning so fast it may not loose all the compression and have enough to fire then.

Sorry for the bad news bud, but i think its time for a new engine or rebuild.

dont run out and buy a motor just yet, do a compresion check and let us know what it says, if that cylinder is low then you need to put some air to it and see where it is going. cracked pistion is the most likely but who knows.

i have seen guys drive for months with the same problem as you so you may not have to rush into fixing it, might be time to look for a 6.0.

plug look the same as the others, and compression is same as other cylinders.... 75psi is what they all did.

something is wrong with your compresion tester i think, 75 seems prety low. how did you do the test?

i dont know if i do it right but i usualy pull all the plugs then put the tester in one hole and crank the motor giving the tester 3 compreison strokes, that is prety close to the max reading.
