You mean you don't believe in the 5-8% rwhp gain like the K&N guy told me over the phone years ago? He said it w/o laughing, too.

Ben buy a 4" silicone 90* and come by and get a piece of this pvc pipe i used ( shcedule 20, if not smaller ) for my CAI. having Taylor sheetmetal build be a box with a down spout like the volant's
so far i got 40 bux into the setup
if the box cost me 100 or 150 i'm still good

The real benefit of an aftermarket intake comes with PCM tuning.
The Spectre intake sold on eBay is getting rave reviews. Black Bear tested the different intakes and found that the AEM (dry filter) offered the best HP/TQ gains followed closely by K&N. I've read where some guys are buying the Spectre and switching the filter to the AEM for a budget AEM intake.
I recently switched from the Volant to the AEM and actually noticed a small SOTP difference (although truthfully I also cleaned the MAF at the same time so I can't attribute it all to changing intakes). The real gains will be from getting tuned though.

I like my outlaw intake. Too bad they don't make them anymore.
I used to have an AEM brute force intake and on hot days it really liked to suck in a lot hot air since its an open intake... wouldn't recommend that one lol.
I noticed a small difference going from the AEM to the outlaw I have now. Especially on hot days.

I've had my Vararam for years. If I ever change it, or make a change to this, a dry filter will be incorporated.

non efan

The difference is the bend in the tube, the efan one is alot more gradual, the non-efan is much more abrupt.
i run the efan specific one, because i have efans

I might do that David... I wouldn't mind just buying something, but with me being MAFless It may be hard to find something to fit 100% without modding it anyway.
Just a 4" 90*
4" straight coupler
Some Sched 10 or 20 4" PVC
And a new cone filter with 4" neck. I've got some sheet aluminum I could mak a partition out of... Or buy a filter and air shield off fleabay...
