ORY Vs. Catted Y pipe
 

Have ARH LTs and I am wondering what the sound difference is between the catted Y and ORY? Basically I am wondering if I would hear the cam chop more with a ORY compared to a catted Y. Anyone got a cammed truck with ORY vid?

I'd get the catted y. Just b/c I wouldn't want my nice, newish truck to have stinking ass exhaust.

I don't have a vid, but w/o cats, my Chevy has a rasp to the exhaust under throttle. I think its cool. But I wouldnt want it that way if it were my dd.

I'm sure you'll hear a chop, not matter what. I run a 114 lsa, w/o all that advance ground in. It chops pretty good at 750 rpm (idle).

I might have to drop the idle a bit to closer to 750 from the current 850, see if that gets some more chop. The 4" catback prolly kills some of the choppy sound too.

i ran catted on mine for the simple fact of keeping the typical LS "whale farting" sound at a minimum, and the rasp.

Mine doesn't have much rasp being catted and 4", just wondering if the ORY would bring out the chop of the cam more? Would like to hear it more.

playing with the tune can do that all on it's own

Single 4'' no converters, dumped at the rear bumper. I would opt for no cats. But I like the old skool smell of the exhaust..

I thought i was wierd when I realized i liked the smell of exhaust in the winter, guess im not the only one! I will have to have Justin get the idle down a bit to get the cam to lope a bit more and then consider the ORY afterward.

ARH states that if you were side by side with identical vehicles and didn't know which had cat and no cats...You wouldn't be able to tell from sound alone.

Will find out, soon as my no catted y-pipe is back.

You certainly can tell the diff in a vehicle with cats and one with no cats.
