I don't know about the LSXR but the LSXRT provides **** gains for stock engines. My buddy paid $900 for one and it gave him 9 Hp above 5200 RPM. It gives no gains in lower rpm and 1 hp per $100. it is not worth it for a stock engine. the Stock manifold can outperform the FAST intake unless you do ported heads and so on. You will not gain anywhere near 20 hp under 6k RPM. Half the time these manifolds dont seal right anyways.

Even with 30 years of experience you can still learn something, ive been working on cars for 20+ and still learn something everyday.... Ive believed the hype and have learned the lessons that go with wasting money on stuff... Hence reason i have wrong cam in my truck at moment, read an article made since and wanted to stay on the more conservative side... Wish i had asked the question 2.5/3 years ago when i ordered this cam.... Had i asked the question i would have been happier... Point being if youre going to ask the question listen to the advice your beIng given or why bother asking it if youve already answered it in you head......

So let's throw some math at it.....
Option 1:
LSXRT - $2000 (after misc parts)
HP gain - 20
Cost per HP - $100
Option 2:
Whipple tuner kit (using this as this is what I was quoted for my install)
HP gain - 121 (using 22% drivetrain loss)
Cost per HP - $51.xx
We done now?

You're lucky these guys are being serious and trying to help you. Other forums would tell you to go right ahead and slap on the LSXR, msd coils, shorty headers, throttle body spacer, and E3 spark plugs.
