Default Opinion On These Heads w/408 !

Im going to be getting a 408 from Texas Speedand I need some opinions on the heads I just bought last week(before I realized a 408 was in my future-funny whats some shiny hardware can do!) Like I said I just got them last week and had planned on putting them on my LS1 next week. They are these heads http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=667&catid=40
If they need to go back they need togo back. Ive contacted Texas Speed but its the weekend plus I wanted to hear what someof you thought. No plans for FI for a few more years just a little nitrous. Thanks in advance!

The only thing that concerns me is they are setup for a 3.90 bore and not a 4.030 bore. They flow decent but would be best suited on an ls1 IMO. I kinda think a good intake and some 317's would be a good combo, cause those big ci motors have got to breathe. The Wood Hauler and I are finding that out the hard way with his 408, It just needs more air than the stock tb and intake can provide it.

they look good but the flow numbers are not all that good for a 408 i'd go with l92 heads and intake

You'll need bigger chambers, those 62cc chambers will give you close to 12:1 compression, not pump gas frendly.Go with a set of ported 317 castings.

Well I got a FAST intake when I got the heads so that will help a bit. So I what about some AFR 225 or the Stage 3 6.0's http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=619&catid=40 ?

Yeah I just went back and saw that they are setup for a 3.900 bore. Looks like there going back. They should of worked nicely with my current setup.

Where is he going to find an intake for it? Nobody can get ahold of them. They are just starting to hit the market and are getting swallowed up by everyone.

Give Richard from WCCH a call, he should be able to help you out.

Large cubes and smaller heads can be lethal if setup right
Here is a link to my favorite build http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...Car.php?car=39
If your looking for low rpm power the heads will work if youve got a 3k stall, gears, big cam etc... Id be looking at 225 or bigger
