My vote is the 6L80 just because I need someone to complete the swap.
I've bagged 6 trucks before the current. This one is the 1st that wont start. I'm going to try a new starter next weekend.
With the 6L80 swap, transmission hump needs a little massaging, no?

I currently have 4.11 LSD back there...less than 500 miles on those gears before I started to work on the suspension and everything else.

Thats a HUGE selling point for me as well, a 2yr/24k or 3yr/36k warranty is kick *** on an old *** truck. LOL. The shop doing my work is pretty good, I doubt he'd do anything that would kill this project. But I like
the idea of a warranty...which a machined 500k mile engine wont see, LOL.

Thats always a HUGE issue.
The shop I'm going to get to do my work sends ALL machine work to 1 shop, both have over 30 years of nearly flawless experience.

No, No, No! You dont go into your education if you are educated. People who have no education can communicate just as good as educated people without what can come across as garbage.

That is why I asked to you explain,

Alot of threads can take turns that dont need to take.

I dont come here much. I just want to learn, I dont really want to see pissing contest, I dont want see people getting in a hog pen and messing up stuff. Just creating havoc and that is why I asked.

That is whole point.

I dont know if any of that helps.

If you want to reply again, that is ok.

Do you have any questions for myself?

Thanks for the reply.

RedXRay and Silver Squared

One of the reason's I dont come here is because worthless things you see or comprehend.

Most unintelligent thing I have ever seen is how people reply here in the LS forums and etc. It doesn't just have to be here, it could at a shop, at a store. They might would reply the same way ridiculous way.

Yall have not contributed anything worthwhile here.

Be aware that almost every crate motor is on back order at the moment. Hell, parts are difficult if you don't want to have to use whatever is available...

I agree with smokinlmm.
I have about 11 blocks here at the shop waiting on pistons, rods, heads, cams, and cranks. It's a hurry up and wait game and everybody is in a rush.

1st of all... **** You Karen

2nd If you've never whacked a starter with a hammer to crank a vehicle... you just learned something!

3rd I'm sure you've filled out dozens of these forms... fill it out... cry more... then

We like @RedXray . Hell, we adore him. We respect him, he knows his ****, he posts procedures and PDFs and takes excellent photos. Man knows his **** thru and thru. He is patient and thorough with new folks, esp on V6-V8 swaps. He likes to talk the ****, he gives it as much as he laughs at it and we all have a good time! The fact you got under his skin says something about you, very loudly.

He knows his *** from a hole in the ground too!

@DAH32 - none of the above can be said about you, take off now. come back in 10yrs looking for more sympathy-it also won't be here. If you're so goddamn smart and have 11 LS engines in your "shop" then you'd know about the oil lines leaking, the oil reroute plate on the pan and you'd know how/why gaskets do what they do and where to buy them/find them. You're full of **** and it shows

Just forget the tech help. I appreciate the tech. I will be back to clean this thread up.

However, the tension is not needed. This is competition, like a boxing match. This a forum for tech.

That is all it is.
